The VDI 2035 directive was first published in 2009 and has been referenced in EN12828 Heating Design in Buildings - Design for water-based heating systems, a standard applicable to the whole of Europe since 2012. It outlines the means of preventing scale and corrosion from occurring without the use of chemical corrosion inhibitors.
